Mr Madhu Kumar Marasini , the newly appointed Consul General joined the Consulate General office on 5th July 2017.
As per the decision of the Government of Nepal, the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of New York has been extended from tri- state to 9 states , namely , New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Hampshire , Rhode Island, and Main.
Consul General Hon. Madhu Kumar Marasini travelled to Washington DC for a consultative meeting with Ambasador Dr Arjun Kumar Karki and the embassy family on July 24-26, 2017.
Consul General Hon. Madhu K Marasini had a courtesy call with Mr. Jeffery Cellars , the Area Director of Office of Foreign Mission, State Department in New York on 27th July, 2017.
Consul General Hon. Madhu K Marasini met with the Executive Director of Greater New York Chamber of Commerce Ms Helana Natt on August 1st, 2017 to discuss on trade and investment cooperation between Nepal and the US. Deputy Consul General Mr. Pushpa R Bhattarai accompanied the Consul General.

Consul General Hon. Madhu Kumar Marasini met with Consul General of India Hon. Sandeep Chakravorty on August 7, 2017. They held discussions on range of the areas of cooperation between the two consulates . Hon. Consul General was accompanied by Vice Consul Ms Shobha Dumre.
Consul General Hon. Madhu Kumar Marasini had a courtesy call with Sri Lankan PR to the UN H.E. Dr. Amrita Rohan Parera on 22nd August . They discussed about further expanding cooperation between Nepal and Sri Lanka. They emphasized for a Buddhist circle tourism and to re-establish direct flight between Kathmandu and Colombo. Hon. Marasini was accompanied by Deputy Consul General Mr Pushpa Raj Bhattarai.
Consul General Hon. Madhu Kumar Marasini met with Consul General of Pakistan Hon. Raja Ali Ejiz on 25 August. They discussed about further enhancing cooperation between Nepal and Pakistan.
Consul General Hon. Madhu Kumar Marasini met with New Jersey Assemblyman Mr Raj Mukherji on August 10, 2017.They exchanged ideas on promoting trade, tourism and investment between Nepal and the US. Hon. Consul General was accompanied by Consul Mr. Krishna Kumar Chhetri
The Consulate General hosted a reception for the Nepali community representatives in New York area to introduce and welcome the newly appointed Consul General Hon. Madhu Kumar Marasini on August 4, 2017. The reception was attended by over 100 community representatives.

Madhu Kumar Marasini attended and addressed the international day of friendship organized by Brooklyn borough president in Brooklyn on August 6, 2017.The occasion was participated by different communities representing 123 countries . Consul General Hon. Marasini gave the message of friendship , peace and harmony from the land of lord Buddha during the occasion .
Consul General Hon. Madhu Kumar Marasini attended the Tourism Summit organized by Nepal Tourism Board and Ministry of Tourism & Culture of Nepal on July 9th 2017. in New York. Hon. Marasini addressed the event highliting the attraction and importance of tourism in Nepal.
Consul General Hon. Madhu Kumar Marasini attended the Tourism Summit held in Boston in July 11. He addressed the event as well and interacted with the tourism entrepreneurs on the scope of tourism promotion between Nepal and the US.
