As decided by the Government of Nepal, all fully vaccinated passengers travelling to Nepal by air or land route must submit a certificate of full vaccination against COVID-19 (Vaccine Certificate) at the entry point. Negative PCR test report is no longer required for fully vaccinated passengers.
Passengers who are not fully vaccinated or without full vaccine certificate are required to submit certificate of negative report of COVID-19 test (RTPCR, True NAAT, Gene Xpert) taken within 72 hours from the first flight departure time. Proof of vaccination is not mandatory for children below 5 years.
All foreign nationals with a certificate of complete vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative certificate of the COVID-19 test will be able to obtain an on-arrival visa from the Immigration entry points of Nepal, under the prevailing law. The passengers travelling with a Travel Document should get a visa from the Nepali Diplomatic Missions abroad in advance.
All passengers (Nepali and foreign) entering Nepal from abroad will not have to remain in quarantine except where it appears necessary while examining health condition.
All passengers entering Nepal should mandatorily fill the International Travellers Arrival Form by visiting the link of CCMC online: https://ccmc.gov.np/arms/person_add_en.php and carry its print-out along travelling to Nepal. Further information on entry requirements and visas are available at https://www.immigration.gov.np.
Travellers who are planning to visit Nepal and wish to obtain visa from this Consulate, the visa applicant should apply with the following documents (in-person visit OR Postal service):
a. Applicant’s Passport having validity for at least 6 months at the time of entry to Nepal.
b. Duly filled in visa application form https://nyc.nepalconsulate.gov.np/visa/
c. One recent photograph of the applicant (2X2)
d. Applicable visa fee in Money order payable to “Consulate General of Nepal, New York”.
e. Printout/Receipt of the online visa application (Visa from Nepalese Mission) from Immigration Department’s website https://nepaliport.immigration.gov.np/onlinevisa-mission/application
f. Proof/Copy of full doze of COVID-19 vaccination/Vaccine card,
g. If travelling to Nepal for organized tourism activities, other than as traveler, such as filming, mountaineering, trekking, heritage site/protected park documentary etc, recommendation letter from the concerned authorities such as Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Department of Tourism, Department of Immigration, Nepal Tourism Board, or other respective Departments as applicable, and travel health insurance coverage for the travel period.
