No Objection Letter for Repatriation of Dead Body/Remains to Nepal
The death of a loved one overseas can be difficult for family in Nepal. The Consulate works hard to ensure that the next-of-kin/close relative understands the options and procedures for handling a death in our consular jurisdiction states like New York, New Jersey and Connecticut of USA.

Most importantly, the information of Death should be first reported to local police by dialing 911. Make sure to call the 911, but tell the 911 operator that the person has died (if dead), that the death was expected (if you wish to inform in advance), and that no emergency exists (if no need of ambulance etc). The persons arriving to the place will make sure that the person has died or not, and if died, he/she will contact the funeral home.

After reporting to the 911, the death of a Nepali citizen should also be reported (even if no emergency assistance is required) to the Consulate General (in Tri State of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) and rest of the States to the Embassy of Nepal, Washington D.C.
