Nepali citizens who wish to renounce their Nepali citizenship must submit the following required documents to the Consulate General of Nepal in New York.

Required Documents:

• A duly completed Relinquishment of Nepali Citizenship Application (Find the Form)

• Original Nepali Citizenship Certificate

• Two recent passport-size photograph

• Copy of U.S. Passport

• Copy of U.S. Certificate of Naturalization

• Self-addressed prepaid return envelope with a tracking number (Not required for in-person pickup)

• Fee & Payment Method: US $ 50.00; Cashier's Check or Money Order (It must be made payable to: The Consulate General of Nepal, New York)

• Processing Time: Applicants will receive email regarding application status updates.
